Diehl Aviation, a leading global partner for the aviation industry, celebrated today the opening of its new production facility in Craiova, Romania, following an investment and construction process executed by Global Vision, the Romanian real estate investment and development platform. Global Vision took the project from concept to a fully operational site and secured the financing that made the project possible.
The inauguration ceremony brought together partners, employees, and representatives of Romanian and German public authorities and institutions, including Angela Ganninger, German Ambassador to Romania, Lia-Olguța Vasilescu, Mayor of Craiova, and Cosmin Dorin Vasile, President of the Dolj County Council.
The new facility reinforces Romania's growing role in the global aerospace supply chain, adding high-precision manufacturing capabilities to a sector that has continued to expand across Central and Eastern Europe. For Craiova and Dolj County, the investment brings a world-class tier one aviation supplier into a local economy already anchored by automotive and logistics investment, broadening the region's industrial base into a higher-value, more specialized segment.
Global Vision's contribution went beyond construction as the the company negotiated and signed the long-term lease with Diehl Aviation, oversaw the build from shell & core through complete interior fit-out, and arranged the capital behind it.
Global Vision Investment Fund (GVIF) secured a EUR 12.7 million facility with Banca Comercială Română (BCR) to support the project’s development works. The financing package comprises a development loan, supplemented by an additional top-up component, providing the funding required for the successful implementation of the project. As part of the development, Global Vision also equipped the facility with a rooftop photovoltaic panel system, adding a green energy component that lowers the tenant's operating costs and supports Diehl Aviation's own sustainability objectives.

Located within Craiova Business Park, the facility spans 12,000 square meters on a 33,500 square meter plot, including 2,500 square meters of Class A+ office space. Backed by a double-digit million-euro investment, the site will produce components for commercial aircraft programs. The facility begins operations with approximately 75 employees and is expected to create up to 500 highly skilled jobs over the medium-term as production scales. Reflecting confidence in the long-term growth potential of the operation, the manufacturer has also secured an option to expand the facility's production capacity, enabling future growth in line with market demand and business development objectives.

The Craiova site joins Diehl Aviation's existing production facilities in Germany, Hungary and Mexico as part of the company's global footprint and follows Craiova Business Park's earlier delivery of space to Returo SGR. Located with direct access to the E79 highway and Craiova International Airport, the park continues to attract manufacturers seeking skilled talent and strong regional connectivity.
