Elektrokontakt Romania (EKR), a subsidiary of ELEKTROKONTAKT GMBH, is the new tenant in Mureș City Logistics, the most modern industrial project in Mureș area. This milestone achieves a 100% occupancy rate for the strategically located facility developed by Global Vision and Globalworth, leading players in the real estate market in Romania and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).
EKR, a subsidiary of the internationally renowned ELEKTROKONTAKT GMBH, specializes in cabling systems. The company has a global presence across four continents — America, Asia, Africa, and Europe. Since 1996, EKR has been a trusted supplier to premium customers in the automotive industry. Their dedication to quality is evident from the numerous industry certificates they have been awarded over the years. The top tier provider for the automotive sector secured a wide 14,735 square meters for a 10-year period in the industrial park developed and owned by Global Vision and Globalworth. EKR, one of the world's leading suppliers of electrical cables for the automotive industry worldwide, anchors its operations at Mureș City Logistics. From this pivotal location, EKR will be exclusively manufacturing the electrical cables for Mercedes car division. The new lease signifies that Mureș City Logistics, a joint venture light industrial park by Global Vision and Globalworth, is now fully occupied, marking a significant achievement for both real estate companies. It also signals confidence in Târgu Mureș as an emerging hub for logistics and light industry.

Overall, the industrial and logistics market continues to be one of the most dynamic real estate sectors, with total demand up more than 20% compared to the same period last year, to around 480,000 square meters of leasing deals, according to Colliers market report for the first semester of 2023. With 6.4 million square meters of modern storage space, Romania is the third largest industrial and logistics market in CEE-15. Mureș City Logistics is ideally located 362 km from Bucharest, 102 km from Cluj-Napoca, and 261 km from Borș at the Romanian West border with Hungary. The park is equipped with modern infrastructure including well-connected roads and ample parking. Târgu Mureș is the seventh Romanian region where Globalworth has chosen to invest, attracted by its strategic location and connectivity. This project has been developed in partnership with Global Vision, with each company holding a 50% stake. The park is the pilot project of the “City Logistics. Last Mile” series developed by the two companies activating in the real estate sector. With this new tenant, Globalworth states its expertise in identifying strategic investment opportunities alongside Global Vision which continues its commitment to developing state-of-the-art buildings. Together, they offer a strong and efficient platform for companies like EKR, supporting the growth and expansion of businesses in Romania and beyond.
