Mega Image becomes the tenant of Global Vision and Globalworth, in Chitila Logistics Hub. The food retailer leased a warehouse with a total area of 4,500 square meters, with temperature-controlled areas and office spaces within the logistics hub developed in the northwest of Bucharest.
We are honored that Mega Image, such a strong brand, chose us for its first storage warehouse in Romania, designated to online purchase, in a global context that accelerated the eCommerce. In addition to the storage spaces, we also were in charge of the construction of the refrigeration rooms. There are certain areas with temperatures of minus 25 degrees Celsius. We continue the logistics and industrial development partnership with Globalworth for the Constanța Business Park project, near the port of Constanța. - added Șerban Juverdeanu, Head of Development at Global Vision
The first logistics unit in Chitila Logistics Hub was completed and delivered in the summer of 2020 – 23,100 square meters.
The growth of eCommerce locally and globally is no surprise, but since March 2020, it has been strongly accelerated. The offline shopping still has an uncertain future, while eCommerce continues to grow. Therefore, we are pleased to welcome the Mega Image teams in Chitila Logistics Hub, where they carry out their eCommerce activities. - said Mihai Zaharia, Director of Investments and Capital Markets at Globalworth
Chitila Logistics Hub benefits from excellent accessibility, being positioned next to the Bucharest ring road which connects the project to the A1 and N7 roads and the city’s central districts. Chitila Logistics Hub is developed on a total surface of 13.7 hectares, and the investments for the entire project are estimated at 35.4 million euros.
The last months have shown us that we need to adapt quickly and find pragmatic solutions for online shopping, with safe and quick home deliveries. The demand for online shopping has increased significantly during this period and we have allocated additional investments to accelerate our e-commerce development. We come closer to our customers by streamlining the operational processes that led to the increase in the volume of orders accommodated in a new modern warehouse, located near Bucharest. - completed Adrian Nicolaescu, Vice President of Marketing, eCommerce, Communication and Sustainability at Mega Image
The development of the entire logistics hub, with a total area of 77,000 square meters, will continue until the end of 2021 and will include several stages of execution. The Chitila Logistics Hub project is developed by Globalworth in partnership with Global Vision. Check availabilities HERE!
